Thanks for spending the rainy evening with us, and a warm welcome to Andy, Robin as well as Kim and family.

Mike Kanz from Bayer Healthcare (Sheboygan Falls) presented some tech-savvy Bayer products and related so well with everyone, having been a Type 1 himself. He covered the A1C five-minute self-test kits, Contour no code meter, Contour USB meter that downloads to computer, Didget meter for use with Nintendo DS/games, Breeze 2 meter with 10-test disc, Contour Choice program (co-pay assistance for test strips), The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People with Diabetes brochure, A1C test coupons, etc. Mike’s love for his job was evident in the presentation and the time he spent with Luke and others after the meeting. See the Bayer diabetes website at http://www.simplewins.com/

Please take note of the Jessepalooza Rockfest honoring Jesse Alswager, to raise funds for research and awareness of Type 1 diabetes. This event will take place on August 6, at the Keva Sports Center, 1-10 pm. See details at http://www.jessepalooza.org or contact cblumer@mdgroupllc.net

Thanks to the Mortensen twins for keeping the younger set busy, while the adults shared information and stories. The teen sitters do much more than sit; they are great role models for younger Type 1’s.

Mark your calendar for the next networking meeting, Tuesday, May 24, when the dietician from Hyvee will present diabetic-friendly products from their store.

Take care, until we meet again!

Eileen
