Nick Jonas, of the Jonas Brothers, has been named as the National Chair of the Walk to Cure Diabetes. Nick was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes four years ago when he was 13 years old. In this role, Nick will help JDRF increase participation and fundraising in its annual Walks, held in more than 200 locations worldwide. Nearly 500,000 people took part in the Walk to Cure Diabetes last year, raising some $75 million. The Walk draws people together in a healthy activity for a worthy cause, raising money to help find a cure for diabetes. It’s fun for families and builds camaraderie among company employees. Join JDRF for our Family Team Rally on Sunday, June 13th from 11am-1pm at Vitense Golfland in Madison.
Mix and mingle with other JDRF families and friends! Get great ideas and helpful tips to start you family team fundraising for the 2010 Walk to Cure Diabetes! There will be short presentation, a light lunch and everyone is welcome to play a selection of Vitense Golfland activities.

We Need Your Help for the Walk Logistics Committee

The Madison Walk to Cure Diabetes is Sunday, September 26 at Warner Park and we are looking for volunteers to help us on our logistics committee.
This committee coordinates all Walk day logistics, from volunteer recruitment to food to entertainment.
Our first meeting will be in late May or early June. Contact Liz Meland at emeland@jdrf.org or 608-833-2873 to be a part of this important committee.
