To celebrate the first anniversary of PRTV, Planet Revels is having a charity basketball game to raise money and awareness for the Western Wisconsin Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.   The game will take place Saturday February 6 at 11:00am at Onalaska High School in Onalaska, WI. It will be the La Crosse Spartans and the La Crosse Skating Sirens taking on Team PRTV and La Crosse Radio Group.

Admission is $4.00 for adults and $2.00 for kids. 100% of the proceeds will be going to JDRF. Admission will be free if you bring a non-perishable food item for the Hunger Task Force.

The event will also include contests, prizes, LOTS of crowd interaction, and performances from T.U.G.G. and Abbey Lane.  This will be a great opportunity for the whole family to come out and meet some of the communities newest athletes as well as some local musicians and other artists (besides watching what promises to be an entertaining basketball game).

Grease – The Musical at Overture Center Saturday, December 12 @ 2:00pm

JDRF Western Wisconsin is excited to announce a partnership with the national touring company of Grease during its five day run at the Overture Center.

On Saturday, December 12, JDRF has secured a limited number of seats (Orchestra & Mezzanine) in Overture Hall for the 2:00 p.m. matinee of Grease. In addition to your seat, JDRF will receive $5-15 per ticket purchase (based on price level) to help find a cure! Grease – The Musical Grease, Time magazine’s 2007 pick for “#1 musical of the year,” is rockin’ across the country in this new production direct from Broadway. Starring American Idol Winner Taylor Hicks as Teen Angel, take a trip to a simpler time of poodle skirts, drive-ins, and T-Birds. “Bad boy” Danny and “the girl next door” Sandy fall in love all over again to the tune of your favorite songs: Summer Nights, Greased Lightnin’ and We Go Together as well as additional songs from the hit movie: Hopelessly Devoted to You and You’re the One that I Want.

Exclusive Meet & Greet with Grease Cast
JDRF ticket holders are also invited for a post-show reception in the Promenade Lounge that includes light refreshments, a Meet & Greet with Grease cast and an exclusive look backstage. Grease cast member, Bridie Carroll, who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in her early twenties, will be attending the Meet & Greet. In honor of Bridie, and all of those who deal daily with the challenges of type 1 diabetes, the national tour of GREASE is proud to partner with JDRF to raise funds and awareness around the country.

BECOME A JDRF MENTOR!

JDRF’s Mentor Program is about sharing, helping, listening, and new friendships with people who understand the ever-changing demands of living with type 1 diabetes.  As a mentor, you would be responsible for contacting a newly diagnosed family or adult and sharing your personal experience, answering non-medical questions, and most importantly, lending valuable, specialized support when it’s needed most.
